Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. - Matthew 19:13-15

They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, "What were you arguing about on the road?" But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest. Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me." - Mark 9:33-37

Children's Ministry

The Bible teaches us that children are not only our treasure, but our example in how to love and trust Jesus.

He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 18:2-4

At St. Anne's, we believe children should be given the same quality of opportunities as adults to learn and grow in their relationships with Christ. Under the careful guidance of Jennifer Sealing, the Children's Ministry at St. Anne's church provides children a warm and non-threatening environment where they learn about God through stories, singing, art projects and fellowship.

Children are encouraged to participate in the church service. Many Sundays, you will see child volunteers serving as acolytes, offering attendants, greeters, short-skit actors, group singers and soloists. At St. Anne's, we are proud to be a family-friendly church, and truly feel that worship should include everyone, regardless of their age.

Several times a year, the children sing as a group during the adult service, where they shine as examples of the pure, unfettered love Jesus desires from each of us.

Special visits from clergy always include our children! Whether the children prepare a special performance for our visitor, or they are treated to a special message prepared just for them, St. Annes children are never forgotten nor overlooked!
